Valle de los Caídos

The great cross of the Santa Cruz Benedictine Abbey at the Valle de los Caídos was erected between 1940 and 1958.
It was designed by Pedro Muguruza and Diego Mendes and its sculptural works were created by Juan de Avalos.

It is located in a pine forest at the Peña de Cuelgamuros, next to San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Madrid.
