Teatro Real de Madrid

The Teatro Real, located opposite the Royal Palace, was designated a Spanish Cultural Heritage Site, under the category of "Historical Monument" in 1993.

Opened for the first time in 1850, this opera house has been remodelled on numerous occasions before reaching its present state. Internationally-renowned orchestras and famed opera singers such as Plácido Domingo have graced its stage.

The Teatro is a key opera venue on the European circuit as well as a cultural landmark in the city of Madrid, both for its architectural merits and the exceptional operatic productions that take place there.
