Monastery of Yuste

Located in Cuacos de Yuste in the province of Cáceres, the Monastery of Yuste is both monastery and palace, home to Emperor Charles V after his abdication in favour of his son Philip II.
These buildings constitute a fine example of Spanish Renaissance architecture.
Furniture and other objects evoke the presence of the Emperor-King, who died on 21 September, 1558.
